Jake moved to Darwin in 2015 for his medical internship then returned to Adelaide for pre-surgical training from 2016 to 2018. He was then accepted into the 5 year Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery program, completing the fellowship examination in 2022. Jake’s ENT training included 18 months of specialty pediatric ENT surgery at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Jake also completed a Masters of Philosophy (Surgery) in the areas of chronic sinusitis and chronic ear disease under the supervision of Professor PJ Wormald and Professor Eng Ooi. He received multiple academic awards* for his research during surgical training. Jake then travelled to London, Ontario, Canada for a 15 month fellowship in advanced head and neck oncology, microvascular reconstructive surgery and robotic surgery. During his fellowship Jake performed over 150 head and neck free flap reconstructions.
Jake treats a full range of general adult and paediatric ENT conditions. Jake's interests include sinus disorders, snoring and sleep, ear and hearing conditions, tonsillitis, swallowing and speech disorders. Jake's fellowship training has also provided a sub-specialty interest in head and neck oncology, robotic surgery, thyroid conditions, skin cancer, facial nerve reconstruction, and cancers of the oral cavity, throat and salivary glands.
Jake has public appointments as a staff specialist at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He consults privately in North Adelaide and operates at The Memorial Hospital and Flinders Private Hospital.
